Research and Technical Organisation
The National Center for Scientific Research(CNRS)is the main public scientific and technological organization in France, carrying out research in every scientific field, through its 10 institutes (including three national institutes). With 32,000 staff, including 24,617 permanent employees, CNRS is the first public research organization in Europe. It hosts more than 1,100 research units located throughout France - mainly joint laboratories with universities. Open to industrial partnerships, CNRS has 5,629 primary patents – 6th largest patent filer in France in 2015 – 1,281 operating contracts and 100 active public/private research structures including 21 joint laboratories.
