Advancing Decarbonized Aviation with Innovative Centrifugal Liquid Pumps and Industry 4.0 Production

LIEBHERR wants to develop a range of centrifugal liquid pumps to meet its needs in its various applications and markets. Carried out in collaboration with two French SMEs, the project aims to develop a new product and set up an associated product line by this aeronautical equipment manufacturer (in a 4.0 vision) that will allow it to internalize production carried out until now in the United States. As a technological building block for the decarbonized aircraft of the future, the project will strengthen Liebherr Aerospace's positioning in a product segment whose market will grow, in particular with the use of fuel cells and hydrogen technology (aeronautical sector but also rail and road).

LIEBHERR veut développer une gamme de pompes liquides centrifuges pour servir ses besoins dans ses différentes applications et marchés. Réalisé en collaboration avec deux PME françaises, le projet vise le développement d’un nouveau produit et la mise en place par cet équipementier aéronautique d'une ligne produit associée (dans une vision 4.0) qui lui permettra d’internaliser une production réalisée jusqu’à présent aux Etats-Unis. S’inscrivant comme une brique technologique de l’avion décarboné du futur, le projet renforcera le positionnement de Liebherr Aerospace sur un segment produit dont le marché va croitre notamment avec l’utilisation des piles à combustible et de la technologie hydrogène (secteur aéronautique mais aussi ferroviaire et routier).
