Developing Sustainable Landing Gear Solutions with HVOF Technology

HITIM Group, a subsidiary of the MECACHROME Group since July 2021, is a company specializing in the high-precision mechanical production of complex, highly technical parts and assemblies. The group wishes to modernize its process for the manufacture of landing gear axles by developing a new HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen-Fuel) process in order to deposit Wc Co Cr powders (tungsten carbide, Cobalt, Chromium) without hexavalent chromium and as a substitute for current solutions that are not compatible with future environmental requirements. By developing an HVOF demonstrator using these new powders, the MECACHROME group will position itself on single-aisle aircraft families with a very competitive offer in a competitive international market. This production will be carried out in a French factory.

Le groupe souhaite moderniser son process pour la fabrication d’axes de trains d’atterrissages en développant un nouveau procédé HVOF (High Velocity Oxygène-Fuel) afin de déposer des poudres Wc Co Cr (carbure de tungstène, Cobalt, Chrome) sans chrome hexavalent et en substitution des solutions actuelles non compatibles avec les exigences environnementales à venir.
