Automated process of disconnecting the exhaust gas generator to the newly designed generation, which includes turboprop and turboshaft in the digital production environment
JUPITER
The aim of the project is to prepare the company to maintain competitiveness for the long-term (>20 years) perspective of manufacturing hulls for the new generation of PWC engines, successors to the PT6 series engines, in an automated, most effective and cost-effective manner, with limited influence of the human factor, and with the support of digital tools. The project includes research and trials, the effect of which will be the transformation of the currently used machining technology into a modern, automated process of comprehensive mechanical machining, with a minimum number of operations and changeovers, using advanced measurement techniques, and using 5-axis multi-task machining centers. During the project, research and tests will be carried out in the field of analysis of physical and mechanical properties of currently used materials and a new combination of stainless steel grades introduced into the structure of the gas generator hull. The developed material data will be used for simulations and numerical optimizations carried out using CAE class tools in order to optimize the machining strategy and selection of cutting process parameters, taking into account quality and efficiency criteria. As part of the automation, tests will be carried out using object-oriented measurement programming and their application in positioning, control and adaptation of the process on the machine tool, as well as tests to confirm the suitability of the probe-machine system for receiving selected dimensional characteristics. The effect of implementing the results will be the production of a fuselage demonstrator for a new engine model according to the innovative technological process developed within the project and using advanced tools, machine tools and production systems. The project activity is consistent with the adopted development strategy and preparation of the company for the implementation of new products and technologies and thus for strengthening on the Aerospace market.
