Development of a fully automated aviation manufacturing technology and implementation of Industry 4.0

Evolution#4 is an approach to the 4th industrial revolution in the manufacture of aviation-specific aerodynamic structures. Based on automated resin transfer molding, the production of fully integral wing shells is to be developed and demonstrated using the A-320 vertical stabilizer. Together with Airbus, the Austrian consortium is setting the pace for intelligent, sensor-based and quality-controlled manufacturing technology of the future and preparing the national supply chain for the necessary evolution in the ramp-up of aircraft production in the future.
